We have a van!

For those of you that follow our accounts on social media, you may have noticed a certain silver van with that familiar pink and white logo driving across Telford…

…Well, thanks to Saisnburys Telford, we have our very own vehicle for the first time since we began back in 2013!IMG_2185

The van is a result of a lot of hard work and dedication between Telford Crisis Support and Sainsburys for the charity of the year project for which we were chosen in 2016/2017.

We’d like to thank everyone that nominated Telford Crisis Support to be put forward for Sainsburys charity of the year. There isn’t anything that’s too big a task for the team at Sainsburys and their contributions and support to help us reach our goal has been absolutely amazing. Working with them has been an absolute pleasure and we’d like to thank all of the wonderful staff and customers at Sainsburys for their ongoing support.

Having the van means we’ll be able to collect and distribute more food each week, we’ll be able to reach those in crisis that may be isolated due to poor public transport links, spread our message across the borough, and continue on our aim to reduce food waste in Telford & Wrekin.

“We are delighted to have Telford crisis support as our charity of the year and that we have raised enough money to be able to fulfil the charity wish for a van that will help the charity no end with their mission to make sure that no one need go without the basic essentials to keep themselves and their families sheltered, fed, clean, clothed warm and healthy” – Sandra Kingscott, PR – Sainsburys
