Twice a year Tescos at The Wrekin Retail Park offer Newport Food Bank a collection weekend, and they graciously share their opportunity with us, so that the food goes to all those in need in our Borough. This is one of the highlights of the year for us, especially approaching Christmas.

27th, 28th and 29th November.

We need your help to man the collection point by the store entrance. Ideally, we’d like a team of five at any one time. Having 5 volunteers makes a HUGE difference to the impact it has and the amount of donations made.

You’d be standing with the team by the entrance, giving out a bookmark sized leaflet that has details of the type of items the food bank needs and you’ll be encouraging shoppers to the think of the food bank as they do their shop.

“Morning.. can I give you this and ask you to think about making a donation to the food bank today. Tescos are adding an additional 20% on top of shoppers donations today. Thank you.” or something along those lines.
