We are also looking for drivers who can do pick ups from local companies who donate food to us and drop off food to our pick up points

We also need people who can help us out in the Office inputting data onto our spreadsheet and possibly some data analysis.

We are a small supportive team who are ready to welcome you to our project. You will have a full induction before you start and can try it our for couple of weeks to make sure it is for you. Training will be provided as required.

Telford Community Store: 2014 – 2017

In September 2014, Telford Crisis Network partners; Age UK, Salvation Army, British Red Cross, Shropshire Community Project, Stay, YMCA, Citizens Advice Bureau, Maninplace, Thrive, Impact, and Telford Crisis Support, teamed up to create Telford Community Store – a huge space offering every type of advice and support possible for those in crisis

At the heart of the store is Shropshire Community Project, a social enterprise that donates 70% of its profits to Telford Crisis Support to fund partner projects. We can’t thank Matt and the team enough for all of the support that they have given to us in the past 3 years. If you want to keep up with their progress and their move visit www.shropshirecommunityproject.org.uk or call 01952 291 569

Being based at the store has enabled people in crisis to be able to be referred in quickly by a partner organisation and access advice and support, get food, clothing, crockery, cutlery, bedding and receive other items that are essential if they have nothing.

The store has provided young people with work experience and new skills, we’ve given food to those in need, we’ve supported various local projects by fund raising and hosting events, we’ve given blankets and tents to the homeless as a temporary measure as well as linking them with Telford’s homeless support links, and we’ve managed to raise a lot of money to support local charities the give back to our community.

Unfortunately, the sad news is that the Unit in which the Telford Community Store occupies is to be taken over by a new company meaning that we have to leave. We have a new site ready to go and we will still run a drop in hub at the Park Lane centre in Woodside. From the 17th July we will be operating out of the TCS hub at Leegomery Community Centre.

Between September 2014 and July 2017 at the Foodbank at the Telford Community Store, our fantastic volunteers have put together in excess of 3500 emergency food parcels. That’s over 25000 meals!

We cannot thank everyone that has supported us during our time here, whether it be donating food or clothing, to volunteering, to just spreading the word about the great work that has been able to take place here. It has been an amazing journey.

Thank you Telford!

10 Pallets donated!

Last week, we were part of Palmer and Harvey ‘s Pro Retail event at Southwater Event Group’s Telford International Centre.

2017 is the third year that we have been a part of the event but this year we were lucky enough to be given an exhibition space to allow us talk to retailers and brands about how they can work with their local Foodbanks to offer much needed support and produce!

The surplus from the show was also donated to us weighing in at an impressive 10 pallets of stock which included toiletries, cleaning products, pet food, drinks, confectionery, fresh milk and cheese, fruit, vegetables and various grocery items.

We’d like to thank all of the brands and retailers who made a contribution, Palmer and Harvey for their support and Shropshire Community Project for assisting with logistics and giving up their time to help!

We’ve already passed on stock to Maninplace YMCA Wellington 1968 foundation just to name a few!
