LIFE Charity

LIFE Housing is one of the largest providers of accommodation for pregnant women and unsupported mothers aged between 16-25 years in the UK.  Their comprehensive service offers a real, practical alternative to abortion and prepares tenants for independent living with their children in the future.

LIFE houses reflect a typical domestic environment; tenants have their own bedrooms and share communal facilities such as kitchens, bathrooms and lounges. A Support Worker is on site every weekday.

Turning lives around

All tenants have an Individual Support Plan. Support Workers devise these alongside tenants and regularly review the plan together, helping tenants achieve their goals.

The Life Skills Programme helps tenants develop the skills necessary to move on to independent living and covers budgeting, education, employment, nutrition and kitchen skills as well as pregnancy, childcare and emotional support to deal with relationships and parenthood.

Their Community Support Schemes provide support to young parents and their children in their own homes. Service-users are either former LIFE Housing tenants who have moved on but who need extra support, or they are referred to us through agencies such as Social Services.

If you’re their tenant, Telford LIFE House and Community Service is there to help you.
